Had an amazing week with the Nava team. They focus on quality and not quantity. My friend did an open water course and I did fun dives with Sunny and Tao. Super professional, friendly, and chill. Koh Tao is one of the easiest places in Thailand to learn to dive. The bays are calm and sheltered, the water is warm, and more than 20 dive sites are a short boat ride away. As a PADI 5-Star and Eco Centre, we want Koh Tao’s reefs to be as healthy after every dive as they were before it. Diving lets us see these reefs up close, so it’s our job to dive responsibly and help protect them. Whether you’re on a PADI Open Water course or a relaxed fun dive, what you do underwater matters. These are the habits we teach on every dive:

Support sustainable diving practices

Nava Scuba Diving is a verified PADI Eco Centre, and ocean conservation and responsible diving are core values for us. They're part of every course and fun diving trip we run, and we work to reduce our environmental impact and support sustainability wherever we can.

Use eco-friendly equipment

Protecting the reef starts with your gear. Use reef-safe sunscreen without oxybenzone or octinoxate, and keep your equipment in good condition. Clip in your gauges and octopus so nothing hangs loose or drags over the coral, and check your gear before every dive.

Capture memories without disturbance

Taking photos is a great way to remember your dives, but the animals come first. Keep a respectful distance, never move or chase marine life for a better shot, and go easy on the flash, which can stress fish and other creatures. Good buoyancy makes steady photos easier too.

Master your buoyancy control

Good buoyancy keeps your fins and hands off the reef and stops you kicking up sand. On every course, our instructors help you fine-tune your weighting, trim and breathing, so you can hover calmly, use less air and enjoy every dive with more control.

No touching underwater

Coral takes years to grow and only seconds to break. Don't touch, stand on or collect coral, shells or anything else from the ocean, and leave marine animals undisturbed. Feeding or handling them changes their behaviour, and even a gentle touch can damage living coral.
