Becoming a certified PADI Scuba Diver on Koh Tao is a streamlined, two-day experience. This course is a subset of the Open Water Diver course, meaning you complete roughly the first half of the full training. You’ll practice setting up your gear, clearing water from your mask, and controlling your buoyancy using your BCD and lungs. This is also where we check your water comfort. The requirement is super accessible: just a 10-minute survival float. That’s it. Here’s a tip: floating in the ocean is super easy! It’s even easier than the pool. Unlike the full course, there is no 200-meter swim required for this level.
